In the .SWOOSH Studio, Nike is inviting its community to collaborate on virtual sneakers.

The .SWOOSH revolution is upon us! Yes, Nike has officially opened its new virtual creations facility. The community is being given the ability to collaborate with Nike and co-create in the Web3 studio. Consequently, four winners will work on a 1:1 virtual creation with Nike designers.

The Instagram #YourForce1 challenge ran from January 26 to January 29, and the four winners will each receive $5,000.

Nike and the Metaverse

Nike is an outspoken proponent of NFTs and the metaverse. In fact, Nike’s goals have always been clear when it comes to virtual worlds and Web3 technology.

The company first acquired RTFKT Studios in 2021. Nike filed the necessary trademarks in December 2022 to launch its own Web3 studio. The #YourForce1 challenge demonstrates Nike’s ongoing commitment to the metaverse.

The #YourForce1 challenge

In essence, the creative prompt “‘ kicked off the #YourForce1 challenge. Imagine if your story were to become Air Force One’s history. Following that prompt, the Nike community was asked to create a mood board for Instagram using the provided guidelines.

As a result, Nike designers will collaborate with the four challenge winners on a pair of virtual sneakers for the metaverse.

In fact, the challenge winners may be included in the NFT drop of Nike’s signature collection. In addition, they may even be eligible for royalties from design sales.

Polygon Network blockchain of choice

On the Polygon Network, Nike’s first virtual signature collection of sneakers will be released. In point of fact, co-founder Mihailo Bjelic of Polygon Network shared a Tweet in celebration of Nike’s announcement.

For non-fungible tokens (NFTs), Polygon Network continues to be a leader in the blockchain. They released a limited-edition NFT collection in conjunction with the luxury brand Dolce & Gabbana last year.

DeGods and y00ts, two of Solana’s best NFT collections, also moved to Polygon Network.

Finally, Polygon Network continues to dominate the world of major brands and NFTs even as Nike prepares to launch its first virtual sneaker collection.
